RULES OF PLAY

Out of Bounds

Out of bounds is defined by White Stakes and/or lines. Ball on or across any roadway is out of bounds.

Penalty Areas

Penalty Areas are marked by Red Stakes and/or lines. When both stakes and lines are present, the lines define the margin of the penalty area.

Flower Beds

Played as Ground under Repair. Free relief no nearer the hole.

Embedded Ball Rule

The “Embedded Ball Rule” is in effect in the General Area.

Turning

Players turning from Hole #9 have the right of way to the first tee.

PACE OF PLAY

An undelayed round is an important tradition of the Club. It is the group’s responsibility to keep pace with the group in front. 9 holes should be played in two hours or less.

COURSE ETIQUETTE

Golf Carts should remain on paths around all tees and greens. Please adhere to the 90 degree rule. Kindly place all rakes outside the bunker after raking your footprints. Repair all ball marks and please fill in all divots with sand provided on your cart.

Hole #1 Vanderbilt Drive

PAR 4 | MEN’S HANDICAP: 9 | WOMEN’S HANDICAP: 9

From the elevated tee, the Main Marina is visible to the right on this straightaway par 4. Avoid the fairway bunker on the right with a tee shot favoring the left center of the fairway. A short iron to this green protected by bunkers left and behind can lead to an early birdie.

Hole #2 Headwinds

A long and strong par 4 that predominantly plays into a northern breeze, you’ll need a big tee shot to reach this two-tiered green in regulation. The toughest pin is back right. Par is your friend here.

Hole #3 Mangrove Bay

“Easy on paper” best describes this devilish short par 3. Protected on the right by water, the bailout left will find a deep bunker that will test your nerves. A well-struck short iron to the correct side of this middle-crowned green will set up a good birdie chance.

Hole #4 Spinnaker Leg

Our longest par 4 at 450 yards, your tee shot must accurately thread the tall palm trees to an elevated fairway. Avoid the deep fairway bunker guarding the left side of the fairway. Your long second shot will require the correct distance and accuracy to avoid the false front and steep fall-offs on both sides. Take a 4 and run!

Hole #5 Skyline

Miami’s downtown skyline is visible from the elevated back tee. Avoid the fairway bunker down the right side with a solid tee shot to the left center of the fairway. Your 2nd shot plays uphill over a deep hidden bunker guarding the front of this shallow green. One of the hardest greens to read, most putts break to the back of the green.

Hole #6 Flamingo Point

Flamingos used to reside on the island to the left. A strong par 3 with South Beach as the backdrop, take an extra club as this normally plays into the wind. Water and sand surround the green on 3 sides, the bailout is to the right. Par is always a good score.

Hole #7 Portside

A spectacular and memorable drive from an elevated tee plays along the Port of Miami waterway. It’s common to see a cruise ship, freight liner or luxury yacht heading out to sea as you play this dogleg left par 4. Water and sand guard the entire left side of this great par 4.

Hole # 8 Blind Man’s Bluff

Risk and reward best describes the drive-able par 4 eighth. Water guards the entire right side and deep bunkers surround the big undulating green. Play it safe and lay up – you’ll be faced with a trademark “Dye” blind second shot. Good chance for birdie here.

Hole #9 Journey’s End

Our only par 5, the ninth is a big dog-leg right heading back to the Clubhouse. Keep your drive left center to get a better view for your second shot. A hidden pot bunker is 25 yards short of the green so lay up wisely. Bunkers flank both sides of the green that tilts from back to front. Three solid shots set up a good birdie chance.
