Originally from Rochester, NY, Mike has held prominent positions throughout his career in distinguished private golf clubs throughout Florida and New York. Now in his eighth year as our Director of Golf, he has been a PGA Certified Golf Professional for over 30 years.

Mike has a proven ability to build long-term professional relationships with both members and guests. His leadership and mentoring skills have led numerous Assistants on to successful Head Professional positions. Each season, he administers two multi-day golf schools with Top 100 Instructors from around the country. Mike resides in Coral Gables.

Jason Richter

Born in North Carolina and having grown up in Cleveland, Ohio, Jason joined the Fisher Island Club team in March 2017. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Turfgrass Management. He earned his Class A Membership into the GCSAA in 2021. His first passion was golf course construction; however, in 2015 he transitioned into golf course maintenance. After a couple successful seasons at Card Sound Golf Club (Key Largo, FL) and The Polo Club of Boca Raton, we are fortunate to have Jason leading the team as our Head Superintendent. His attention to detail with course conditioning provides our membership with fabulous playing conditions. Jason and his wife, Samantha, daughter, Lila, and their dog, Tito, reside in Ft. Lauderdale and enjoy spending time with family.

Dave Ayyar

Class A PGA Member Dave Ayyar joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 1998. Besides having exceptional teaching skills, Dave was also an accomplished junior player and a four-year starter at Florida International University, Dave has competed in many local professional tournaments and has instructed players of all ages and skill levels. Dave resides in Palmetto Bay.

Originally from Memphis, TN, Tyler joined Fisher Island in October of 2018. An avid golfer from a young age, Tyler participated in Mid-South Junior Golf Association/The First Tee of Memphis until college working on golf courses throughout the summers. After graduating from Tennessee Technological University in 2013 with a Bachelors in Agriculture, with an emphasis in Turfgrass Management, he interned at Card Sound Golf Club. Before working at Fisher Island Club, he also worked at Quail Ridge Country Club as an Integrated Pest Management Manager and an Assistant Superintendent at The Polo Club of Boca Raton. Tyler resides in Miami Beach.

A native of Miami, Phil is celebrating his 26th year of dedicated service to the Fisher Island Club. He has a degree in Education from Florida Atlantic University. Phil handles the ordering/ receiving of all apparel, hard goods and miscellaneous golf shop items. His consistent thoroughness of special orders makes shopping in our golf shop easy. An avid horse follower, Phil resides in Hallandale

Olivier Gilmartin

Currently a registered PGA Associate in Level 3 of the Professional Golf Management program, Olivier joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 2017. Olivier has competed in the US Amateur, British Amateur and Australian Amateur. He won The Basel Championship in Switzerland in 2007 and 2008 and played for the Swiss National Team from 2006 – 2008. In November 2010, he turned professional and competed for 8 years on several tours including PGA Tour Canada, Nordic League (Scandinavia), Pro Golf Tour (Germany), Alps Tour (Central Europe) and Jamega Tour (United Kingdom). His background comes from working with world-renowned teachers encompassing goal setting, tournament analysis, fitness, practicing with a purpose, drills & competitive games. Olivier resides in Miami with his newly wedded bride, Adriana.Bouchard – former world #5, and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Today, he enjoys teaching all levels but specializes in technique and strategy at the intermediate to advanced level.

Kaylee Wells

A graduate from Johnson & Wales University in 2019, Kaylee has been on our Professional Team ever since. Kaylee currently is in Level 3 of her LPGA Certification. Originally from Baiting Hollow, New York, her love for the game of golf has her aspiring to excel with Junior Instruction and Growing the Game. Kaylee resides in Kendall with her dog Ellie.

David Espinosa

PGA Assistant Golf Professional

Born and raised in Miami Springs, FL, David began playing sports at a young age. He played baseball competitively until finding the passion of golf his senior year at St. Brendan High School. David went on to play collegiate golf at Johnson & Wales University. He graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Entertainment & Event Management, plus a Minor in Golf Management. After years of service as an Assistant at Deering Bay, he joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 2021 and is currently a registered PGA Associate in Level 1 of the Professional Golf Management program. In his free time, David enjoys playing Disc Golf competitively and off-roading his Jeep Wrangler.

Brandon Meltzer

Originally from Melville, NY, Brandon graduated in 2013 from Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, FL with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. A four-year starter on the golf team, Brandon also volunteered for the First Tee of Miami and the Golf Special Olympics. In 2013, Brandon was recognized as NAIA Men’s Golf All-American Team and NAIA PING South Region Team.After college, Brandon turned Professional in 2013 and has three wins on the Minor League Golf Tour. After chasing the dream of playing Professional Golf, Brandon started his path to PGA Professional status at the Polo Club of Boca Raton as a Golf Shop Assistant. Brandon joined the Fisher Island Team in 2021 and has been an immediate asset to our team. Brandon enjoys fishing, hiking, and building custom fishing rods. Brandon resides in Kendall, FL.

Born in Haiti, Ermelia moved to Miami in 1984 and attended Miami Dorsey High School. Ermelia joined the Fisher Island Club Team in 1993 and has been an outstanding asset to our golf operation. She is the proud mother of 4 daughters, 3 sons and grandmother to 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. Ermelia resides in North Miami with her husband of 33 years
